Name the game

Continuing on our "game" theme...
This approach to creative problem solving starts by defining the main “game” or challenge within a problem.
For instance, if you’re trying to engage customers more, you might name the game “Catch Their Eye” or “Start the Conversation” or "Stay on Their Radar."
By giving the challenge a catchy title, it becomes easier to align solutions toward a shared vision — and more likely that we'll develop ideas that wouldn't have come about any other way.
For instance, re-naming the challenge "Catch Their Eye" might lead to ideas like:

  • Create an eye-catching visual hook that stands out

  • Create a pop-up event that catches eyeballs by virtual of being different and temporary

  • Build an interactive art installation in a public place.
Begin with developing a list of game-names based on the original challenge, and then aim for at least ten ideas inspired by each name.
"Naming the game" re-frames our challenges with a fun, focused goal — making it easier to come up with unique ideas tailored to the outcome we're after.
